Who we are:
The Peer Guides consist of Grade Eleven and Twelve girls who have undergone training from the school’s Counselling Department in both counselling and personal growth skills. They are available to listen and to provide support to their peers when they need someone to talk to. This is an enrichment group who are involved in various seminars about life issues to further their skills and knowledge. Training occurs at regular intervals to extend the existing group. The Peer Guides aim to help others learn to help themselves.
Frequently asked questions:
How do I approach a Peer Guide?
When and where are Peer Guide sessions held?
You and your Peer Guide arrange a day and time during break to meet. Your session will be held in the group work room in the counselling department.
How do I know that what I share with a Peer Guide stays between us?
Peer Guides have signed a contract that makes them obligated to keep all information about clients circumstantially confidential. This means that they are not allowed to tell ANYONE about what happens during your sessions; however, if they feel that your situation might be harmful to you or others, they have to tell one of the counsellors who will know how to better handle the situation.
What kind of issues can I talk to a Peer Guide about?
This is your space to talk about ANYTHING that bothers you. It might range from things like stress about school, relationships, friends, family, or fitting in, and will definitely differ from person to person. Our Peer Guides have been trained and are willing to listen and to support you.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask the Head of Peer Guides.

- Our Peer Guides are involved in many other pillars of the school. If you do an extra-mural with one of them, you could ask to speak to her after a practice or meeting.
- The tutor groups of the Peer Guides are listed next to their names under the photo. You can meet them at their tutor class before or during roll call (with permission from your tutor teacher, of course).
- Email [email protected] to arrange a session
- Once you have found a Peer Guide, you can tell her privately that you would like to schedule a session.
